GCI's Position on the Balkans Environmental Situation


Green Cross International is a full member of the United Nations task force that has been establish to assess the environmental situation in the Balkan region.


Bertrand Charrier, GCI Executive director participated to the Balkans task Force Danube river mission. The purpose of this mission was to assess the environmental situation of the Danube River. Bertrand Charrier was invited to join this mission for his expertise in international water management and also because he leaded in 1991-1992, the first independent environmental assessment of Danube River immediately after the fall of Berlin wall. - An article from Lycos Environmental News Service.
